Fraud Investigator – Financial Services
Preference will be given to BBEEE candidates due to BEE requirements
Location: Durban
An excellent and well-established financial services concern is looking to appoint an experienced Fraud Investigator. The main purpose of this position will include the investigation of fraud matters regarding home loan applications, and other staff investigations referred by the business.
Conducting bi-annual fraud risk assessments, quality review of credit applications, constructing cases and compiling documentary evidence to support findings. Compiling reports and making recommendations on actions to be taken against perpetrators to safeguard the interest of the company. Using knowledge and experience gained to initiate fraud training and awareness campaigns for the company’s zero tolerance towards fraud.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Audit all suspected fraudulent credit applications.
- In line with the fraud prevention strategies, enforce a zero-tolerance culture towards fraud to ensure the company remains fraud free.
- Actively participate in annual fraud prevention workshops and share lessons learnt from investigations conducted.
- Assist with investigations on fraud allegations against staff members, conducted in line with the Anti-fraud and fraud response policy.
- Perform bi-annual fraud risk assessment with the Enterprise Risk team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have sound financial services or home loans industry experience
- Relevant 3-year qualification consisting of Forensics; Law or Commerce plus certification as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- Post Graduate Qualification in Forensic auditing and criminal justice
- More than 2 years’ experience in forensics or fraud investigations within the financial sector is essential
- A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in home loan fraud investigations
