Civil construction company with clients in the private and government sectors seeks a Foreman
Planning
Execute activities according to the weekly plan.
Communicate program with teams
Monitor progress against target and report any problems.
Management:
Ensure that induction of Labour is carried out as per policy.
Allocate teams according to the weekly plan.
Evaluate personnel and make certain that correct construction methods are used.
Ensure that team leaders and operators receive all necessary information from the Surveyor prior to start of the process.
Ensure that discipline is maintained in the team and hours of work are adhered to.
Check that watchmen are on duty.
Plant Management:
Monitor the correct use of small plants and tools.
Ensure correct application of plants and implements.
Report downtime and mechanical problems.
Ensure daily refuelling of the plant.
Plan for and clean the plant as per schedule.
Material Management:
Plan material requirements according to the weekly plan.
Report shortfalls timeously.
Responsible for receiving, storage and loss control of materials.
Report exceptions to G.F / Site Agent.
Responsible for housekeeping of designated area.
Check the quality of delivered material.
Use material according to prescriptions.
Cost Management:
Complete daily costing sheets and report results.
Allocate correct cost codes for fuel and labour.
Plan and manage a team so that targets are met.
Contractual Management:
Responsible for quality of work.
Ensure that safety procedures are followed.
Responsible for quality control and testing of material and work.
Use the correct line of communication with Engineers.
Public Relations:
Ensure Healthy relationships with Engineers and Clients.
Communicate conduct to workers with respect to company transport, toilet facilities and use of any public facilities.
Be aware of public access and particular requirements of the contract.
