Excellent opportunity for seasoned Foreign Exchange Officer/Controller with Documentary Credits and Exchange Control Experience

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose:

To ensure that all Foreign Exchange related transactions and all Foreign Currency and Rand Customer payments are processed accurately according to the Foreign Exchange and Payments policy and procedure, within the 24 hour turnaround time and according to customer’s instructions. To ensure that the FinSurv Reporting is submitted to SARB on daily basis.

Responsibilities/KPIs

• To ensure overall adherence to the SARB Exchange Control and Cross Border requirements. Advising clients, various units in the bank with respect to Exchange Control and liaison with the SARB in this regard.
• Vetting foreign exchange transactions prior to processing, ensuring full compliance with Exchange Control. Understanding the nature of transactions from the Exchange Control perspective and validate transactions against the Exchange Control Manual.
• Compile and submit applications to the SARB.
• Assist with FinSurv’s onsite and offsite inspection reports ensuring that they are investigated and concluded within the specified time.
• Accurate and timely reporting of all relevant items on the BOP and IVS(Import Verification System).
• To ensure that the administration of Trade related products which relate to Import and Export Letters of credit, Import and Export Collections, Inward and Outward T/T and rand clearing (Samos) payments, are performed accurately in accordance to the time frames and procedures as specified in the policies and procedures for Foreign Exchange and Payments Department, resulting in no risk or loss to the Bank or its customers.

Qualifications required:

• Matric/Grd 12 - Essential
• Undergraduate Degree/Diploma and /or studying towards - Desirable

Experience required:

• 3 - 5 Years'' experience in Foreign Exchange Department in a Bank
• 3 - 5 Years experience dealing with Foreign Exchange products such as Import/Export LCs, Import/Export Collections, Inward/Outward TTs and Rand Clearing payments.
