Food Technologist - Rivergate - R20,000 per month (Negotiable) + benefits

Position Description:

• Drive and oversee all QA/QC responsibilities within the company as well as support the R&D / quality manager with all quality and development aspects of the business.
• 
  Investigating and resolving customer complaints and providing feedback to customers.
• 
  Managing microbial and shelf-life testing through 3rd party accredited laboratories.
• 
  Compiling and recording product specifications for all products.
• 
  Ensuring incoming and outgoing labels and packaging matches product specifications.
• 
  Developing certificates of conformance of products for exports.
• 
  Compiling standard operating procedures in line with GMP requirements.
• 
  Managing and recording shelf-life testing with manufacturers.
• 
  Inspecting capsule-based products according to specifications and approving or rejecting release into market.
• 
  Assisting with food safety audits of 3rd party manufacturers (FSSC22000, GFSI, GMP)
  Working towards FSSC22000 accreditation.
• 
  Reviewing product labels according to R146 foods labelling regulations and SAHPRA guidelines on complementary medicines.
• 
  Assisting with consumer and product research based on trends in the market to develop new products, line extensions and flavours.
