POSITION INFO:

Our client, an agri-business with various entities within the agricultural /  food processing industries is looking for a Food / Factory Technologist to join their team.  Their office is located in  Klipheuwel / Durbanville region.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, this represents an excellent career opportunity for a team player with the chief responsibilities of:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Driving the Quality and Food Safety systems in a FSSC 22000 certified facility
• Organizing and leading staff Training and Development
• Managing the in-house laboratory and QC testing programme
• Handling of Customer Complaint investigations and feedback
• Conducting GMP/Hygiene Audits as per the internal audit schedule
• Facilitate External Audits (FSSC22000, ZA-certification, IBL) together with the Food Safety Team
• Timely ordering of cleaning chemicals and factory hygiene consumables
• Co-ordinating Occupational Health and Safety programmes

REQUIREMENTS:

• An appropriate tertiary qualification
• At least three years proven technical experience in a FSSC 22000 (or equivalent) accredited food production environment
• Good computer literacy
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently
• A willingness to also work rotational weekends

SALARY:

Negotiable depending on experience
