Fleet Maintenance Coordinator (Mechanic)

SUMMARY:
Coordination and maintenance of fleet vehicles

POSITION INFO:

Duties/ Responsibilities: 

• Physical maintenance, repairing and servicing of fleet

• Vehicle mechanic experience required

• Buying & selling of vehicles

• Managing the registering of all fleet with the local licensing department

• Ensuring the entire fleet has a valid fleet card

• Organizing  and  planning  of  services  for  bakkies  and  trucks  and  the  proper  record  keeping  of  all expenditure on repairs and maintenance done per vehicle

• Ensure all trailers are maintained by checking and servicing thereof as well as hook repairs to be done

• Servicing of all compressors and record keeping thereof

• Servicing of the generator and ensure fuel levels are maintained

• Responsible for the branding of all vehicles as well as removal thereof when sold

• Tyre pressures to be checked on all the bakkies and trucks at least twice a month

• Monthly  tests  to  be  conducted  on  the  entire  fleet  to  monitor  the  brakes,  wheel  alignment  and suspension.

• In charge of implementing a diesel pump procedure as well as monitoring the diesel tank levels, buying of fuel by obtaining three quotes, filling of all vehicles and monitoring fuel usage by drivers

• Ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy

• Any other task necessary for the conduct of the employer’s business, as the employer may from time to time direct. A separate schedule determining the day-to-day tasks of the employee may be handed

to the employee in the course of employment.
