Primary Responsible

• The Fixed Asset & Inventory Manager is responsible for maintaining effective procedures for accurately recording & verifying asset activities and fleet management within the SGS Southern Africa region.

Specific Responsibilities

• Collaboration with all stakeholders to achieve asset verification targets
• Yearly asset impairment analysis
• Co-ordinate the procedures of fixed and right-of-use asset additions and disposals
• Collaboration with all stakeholders to process, monitor and control all relevant vehicle fleet activities and spending
• Monthly reconciliation & reporting of fixed assets
• Monthly reconciliation & reporting of right-of-use assets  
• Status reporting for asset verifications
• Dashboard reporting for vehicle fleet activities
• Co-ordinate and execute site visits for asset verifications
• Co-ordinate inventory verifications, recording and reporting
• Monthly reconciliation of relevant expense GLs
• Budget and ROI tracking
• Assist in external and internal audits
• Participate in ICOFR submissions
• Participate in finance improvement projects  
• Be compliant to all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.
• At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.

Required Skills

• Finance degree and/or relevant experience in a similar position
• Experience working in a large corporate’s finance department with multiple entities and currencies
• Experience in general ledger & asset recordings and reconciliations
• Understanding of IFRS relevant to this position
• Proven ability to successfully lead a team
• Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders
• Teamwork and multi-tasking
• Sufficient level of computer skills (Word, Excel, Adobe, Teams, SharePoint, ERP GL & FA modules)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Attention to detail (accuracy)
• Business partnering focus
• Understanding of fleet management processes and requirements

• Compliant to all SGS QOH&S and HR policies and procedure
• Granted sufficient authority to achieve the given responsibilities as per documented finance policies
