POSITION INFO:
Well established company based in East London are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fitter Artisan to work as part of a small, dedicated maintenance team to maintain our automatic hydraulic brick manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will have a strong background maintaining automated hydraulic equipment, planned maintenance and previous experience in the industry or similar. The facility operates 5/6 days a week, 18 hours a day, requiring flexibility and a commitment to ensuring maximum equipment uptime.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a high level of safety and cooperation/ interaction with production.
Responsibilities:
- Perform planned maintenance tasks on hydraulic systems, machinery and auxiliary plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults, minimising downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections and condition monitoring.
- Execute preventative maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the planned maintenance system.
- Assist with project work and upgrades as required.
Requirements:
- Qualified Fitter Artisan (Trade Test Certificate).
- N3 mechanical certificate
- Extensive experience in planned maintenance.
- Previous experience in the brick manufacturing industry beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of automated hydraulic systems and machinery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and overtime.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a factory environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
