Fitter and Turner - Winder

SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining industry has an opportunity available for a Winder Fitter and Turner, to be based in the Rustenburg area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) Distinct Advantage
• Recognised relevant Trade Qualification (Section 13/26D) OR
• Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time): NTC 2 (relevant Trade Theory, specialised courses) (desirable)
• Minimum of 3 years working experience as an Artisan is essential
• Knowledge of winders modules is essential
• Winder Fitter and Turner appointment under DMR is essential
• Valid Medical certificate or medically fit to obtain such a certificate
• Must have knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in and around a workplace
• Be able to operate a personal computer system (MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Ability to read, interpret and produce basic engineering drawings
• Identify engineering materials, their characteristics and applications and common metal tests used in engineering

Duties:

• Design basic mechanical components.
• Diagnose and repair faults on equipment and machinery during operation/production.
• Perform routine maintenance on pipes and lubricating system.
• Develop new tooling or modifying new tooling when required.
• Maintain, repair, change and set tools.
• Write technical reports.
• Attend to callouts with regards to mechanical breakdowns
• Conduct on-the-job coaching
