Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.
About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Stipend: R10 000.00

Duties: Fitter and Turner (Toolmaker)

• Operate a conventional milling machine with numerical controls.
• Operate convention Lathe machine with numerical controls.
• Building mechanical assemblies based on technical drawings.
• Disassembling machinery for repairs and maintenance.
• Regularly inspecting machines to ensure optimal functioning.
• Utilizing tools and machines to fabricate parts.
• Undertaking repairs and replacements as necessary.
• Perform repairs and planned maintenance on moulds as per quality system requirements.
• Assure that the quality of the parts being moulded meet part specifications including part
• drawing, and cosmetic specification.
• Follow all safety requirements and ensure all safety devises in mould room are operational.
• Shut down, lock out equipment and inform supervisor if safety device is found defective.
• Tracking all mould maintenance schedules relevant to PM’s
• Using crane and rigging equipment.
• Striping any type of hot runner elements, thermocouples. According to hot runner
• specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design schematics and CAD drawings.
• Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
• Measuring and marking metals stock for machining.
• Environmental Health & Safety
• Ensure you work in a safe manner by following company health, safety, and housekeeping
• regulations,
• Adhering to safety protocols is crucial as the job involves working with heavy machinery and
• tools.
• Report any injuries and complete incident reports during training delivery.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Fitter and Turner Trade or Toolmaker Trade Occupational Qualification.
• Fitter and Turner or Toolmaker, preferably within Machining.
• Good English skills, written and oral local language skills are required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with young people.
• Mechanical skills with the ability to work with various machinery and tools.
• Attention to detail with precision in reading engineering drawings and executing tasks.
• Mathematical proficiency for calculating dimensions and measurements accurately.

• Must be medically fit
• Applicants must reside in Cosmo City, Diepsloot, Soweto, Tembisa, Randburg, Roodepoort, Krugersdorp and surrounding areas
