JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client in the manufacturing sector, has an opportunity available for a Fitter and Turner in the southern suburbs of Johannesburg.

Requirements:

• Qualified as a Fitter and Turner. • Knowledge and experience about Fitting and Turning techniques and the tools and turning equipment available (example, lathe types, rigging equipment). • 2 years post apprentice experience. • Certificate in Rigging (relevant lifting equipment code) will be an advantage. • Technical understanding of equipment • Possessing practical skills to manufacture, repair with pride and within micro tolerance. • Function efficiently under pressure. • Must be from the Packaging Industry • Be available for shift work and be on Standby as and when required.

KPAs: •

Perform specialised technical duties in the operation on plant and equipment related to; fabricate, maintain, repair, construct, install, dismantle, fit and turn. • Perform diagnostic duties by executing actions related to; test, inspect, troubleshoot and fault find, check, measure, record, etc. to achieve outcomes such as reducing downtime, minimize breakdowns, improving availability of plant and equipment. Inspections on mechanical equipment components. • Record technical data on completed work for use in planning system. • Perform maintenance and repair tasks in a safe manner according to operating procedures and policy.
