JOB DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To provide maintenance and engineering services ensuring optimum plant and equipment availability according to recognised technical requirements and standards. Dismantle, repair, manufacture, assemble and rig plant and specific components according to technical specifications. Make use of tools and machinery to apply engineering fitting and turning techniques. Application of knowledge, skills and expertise in specialised technical discipline within a regulated framework, according to tolerance specifications.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Perform specialised technical duties in the operation on plant and equipment related to: fabricate, maintain, repair, construct, install, dismantle, fit and turn. • Perform diagnostic duties by executing actions related to: test, inspect, troubleshoot and fault find, check, measure, record, etc. to achieve outcomes such as reducing downtime, minimize breakdowns, improving availability of plant and equipment. Inspections on mechanical equipment components. • Record technical data on completed work for use in planning system. • Perform maintenance and repair tasks in a safe manner according to operating procedures and policy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Qualified as a Fitter and Turner. • Knowledge and experience about Fitting and Turning techniques and the tools and turning equipment available (example, lathe types, rigging equipment). • 2 years'' post apprentice experience. • Certificate in Rigging (relevant lifting equipment code) will be an advantage • Experience in paper converting packaging manufacturing environment advantageous
