SUMMARY:
Fitter and Turner

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To perform planned and general maintenance to plant and equipment.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Maintain all infrastructure, equipment and services as per works request for maximum plant availability.
Perform planned and statutory maintenance.
To perform breakdown maintenance.
Perform production change overs.
Execute planned plant upgrades as per approved capital or PD projects.
Maintain and set specialized tooling i.e. propellant dies
To inspect, service, repair and overhaul machinery.
Analyze drawings and plan material accordingly.
Plan correct procedure and method of work to comply to permit to work.
To perform planned preventative maintenance.
To do fault finding on Hydraulic/Pneumatic & Mechanics
To perform breakdown maintenance.
To perform tool changeovers on hydraulic presses
To inspect, service, repair and overhaul machinery.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum qualification: National Technical Certificate 3 (N3) /Matric / Completed Chemical Operations
Have completed a recognized apprenticeship.
Passed a trade test as Fitter or Fitter and Turner.
Five years maintenance experience on machinery.
Maintain all infrastructure, equipment and services as per works request for maximum plant availability.
Perform planned and statutory maintenance.
To perform breakdown maintenance.
Perform production change overs.
Execute planned plant upgrades as per approved capital or PD projects.
Maintain and set specialized tooling i.e. propellant dies
To inspect, service, repair and overhaul machinery.
Analyze drawings and plan material accordingly.
Plan correct procedure and method of work to comply to permit to work.
Good Hydraulic/Pneumatic & mechanical insight in the repair of machinery.
Code 8 driver’s license.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime and be on standby.
Self-disciplined. hardworking and enthusiastic individual
Neat and orderly approach to his work.
Ability to work well in a team
