We are searching for a field service technician to provide on-site maintenance and instillation for their equipment.
 
The field service technician will be in charge of installing and testing equipment, troubleshooting issues, making repairs, and teaching our customers how to operate the systems.
 
Objectives of this role
 

• Learn and understand the operation of our equipment to accurately answer questions and adequately serve customers
• Provide customers with tools and training to successfully operate their equipment
• Become an expert in identifying and diagnosing equipment issues
• Work seamlessly and cohesively with customer service representatives, logistics coordinators, and other members of the team
• Resolve all customer complaints and repair or replace malfunctioning equipment
• Leave customers feeling satisfied and confident in their equipment at the end of each visit

• Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding water treatment systems and products. (Instillation of pumps, motors, PVC pipework, valves and related equipment)
• Conduct field visits to assess system performance and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and deliver training sessions and technical presentations for clients and staff.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to provide informed recommendations.
• Delivery of products.
• Capability to conduct onsite installations and services and train customers to properly operate or service their new hardware
• Work with team to thoroughly understand customer complaints and equipment issues before arriving on-site for maintenance
• Travel to job sites to troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems, and fix or replace equipment as needed.
• Provide regularly scheduled, ongoing equipment maintenance visits
• Follow company procedures and safety policies Skills and qualifications
• Strong technical knowledge of water treatment systems and technologies will be beneficial.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software related to water treatment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information to non-technical personnel. (English & Afrikaans)
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
• Ability to install equipment, diagnose problems, and make repairs
• Strong time-management skills and an ability to stick to a tight schedule
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for troubleshooting technical issues
• Ability to collaborate with others and work well on a team
• Enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service

• Matric certificate minimum, preferably with a technical background
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably within the water treatment or environmental services industry.
• Familiarity with water treatment processes, chemical dosing, and regulatory compliance is a plus.
• A trade related qualification or having studied in that arena is beneficial (Fitter and turner, Electrical)
• Electrical knowledge is beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience in performing on-site maintenance
• Availability to work irregular shifts, if required

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel to client sites for on-site support and training.
• Maintaining admin records (Service reports etc.)
