Main Tasks

• Complete scheduled and planned maintenance activities
• Perform plant inspections on a daily basis, checking and maintaining good plant conditions
• Repair faulty equipment using suitable tools and equipment
• Complete predictive maintenance activities
• Participate in and execute proactive maintenance i.e. root cause analysis
• Perform breakdown maintenance on equipment
• Complete scheduled and planned maintenance during shutdown periods
• Rig up to 2.5T during standard maintenance activities
• Perform equipment changes and overhauls of any piece of mechanical equipment in the plant
• Work standby and overtime as and when required
• Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and procedures
• Represent the Engineering group with leading the Gemba process
• Faultfinding on hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
• Make sure that all PM’s checks and Routine checks assigned to you are up to date.
• The machinery assigned to you is your responsibility, so make sure that they are safe to use and all mechanical equipment on it works properly.
• May train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area including contractors.
• Researches, purchases and inventories equipment parts, chemicals and supply.
• You are required from time to time to participate in TPBS, RIE, TPM and quality circles.
• Maintaining Machines to the highest standards to minimize downtime.
• Maintain Machine downtime trends
• Maintain Energy trends
• Assist Production in achieving their goals.
• Update Gemba boards

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / National Engineering Certificate
• Fitter trade test certificate
• Computer Literate
• 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience
• 3 – 5 years’ mechanical maintenance experience
• 3 - 5 years mechanical project management experience.
