Fitter 2 Months Temp

SUMMARY:
A challenging position exists for a suitably qualified fitter with 5 years’ experience at a workshop in Chloorkop, Kempton Park.

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the job

The position is mainly responsible for executing the required maintenance tasks in a safe, efficient, and effective way according to the job package. The position is also responsible for adding value to the customers of the Department by supplying excellent workmanship in his/her trade. All work performed by the Fitter must be in accordance to procedures, specifications and rules.

 

Key performance area

 

• To perform maintenance work in accordance with specific trade
• To perform plant inspections/schedules
• Report any unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or unsafe acts.
• To participate in RCI’s, trouble shooting and problem solving
• To participate in transferring of skills and generating of procedures based on specific trade skills
• To participate and adhere to the Management of Change process.
• Assess and mitigate risks
• Update communication groups through specific channels as required
• Perform shutdown tasks
• SHERQ Responsibilities

Technical competencies

• Must be able to repair and replace pumps (Formal training will be advantageous)
• Must have knowledge about gaskets and fasteners in chemical environment
• Good computer skills and report writing abilities

Experience

• 2 years’ chemical or similar plant experience
• Piping and pump repair experience

Qualifications:

• Matric
• Fitter Trade Certificate (Red Seal)

Personal Circumstances:

• Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
• Will be required to work shifts
• Maybe required to be on standby

 

Basic salary: Minimum R19 000
