Fitter

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fitter to join our client in the Mechanical Engineering industry in Wadeville.

The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical skills, knowledge of local and state building codes, and the ability to interpret blueprints. This role involves tasks such as studying drawings, assembling metal parts, performing maintenance, and diagnosing faults.

• Must have a Mechanical Trade as a Fitter.
• Proven experience as a Fitter.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to interpret blueprints for mechanical systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional welding and mechanical skills.

• Study drawings and specifications to determine material, method, and sequence of operations.
• Assemble fabricated metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machines and equipment.
• Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy and fit using precision measuring instruments.
• Set up and operate machining tools and presses, ensuring prescribed cutting and shaping tools are in place.
• Shape metal stock and castings with precision using machining tools.
• Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
• Diagnose faults, perform operational maintenance, and repair machines and mechanical parts.
• May be involved in on-site machine and equipment erection.
