Financial Reporting Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client, a proudly South African manufacturing concern, currently seeks a Financial Accountant - Reporting.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Job Requirements:

• B.Com (Accounting) or a relevant 3-year Degree/Diploma.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting or general ledger related function.
• Proven expeirence in a Syspro environment essential.
• Financial accounting principles and practices.
• Syspro utilisation.

Key Job Functions:

• Maintenance of the general ledger:
• monthly recons, including back-up schedules in support of all balance sheet accounts;
• complete half year-end and year-end schedules as required in support of specified general ledger accounts.
• Journals:
• prepare journal and accrual entries;
• capture journal and accrual, including routine monthly transactions, corrections and provisions, ensuring correct account allocations.
• Reporting - general ledger:
• prepare management report pack within due dates.
• Reporting - other:
• prepare monthly sales report (supervise sales reporting) and circulate monthly.
• VAT reconciliation:
• prepare and reconcile divisional VAT recon monthly;
• assist with IT14SD;
• ensure VAT recon is reviewed by the Financial Accountant, prior to e-Filing submission.
• Foreign treasury:
• foreign creditors revaluation and Forex bank recons;
• review all Buyer documentation for FEC requests.
• Audit:
• assist with SARB, internal & external audits.
• Petty cash:
• prepare monthly float recon.
