Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
Be part of the history of Johannesburg, the city of gold. This well-known property company owns 3 of the most historic buildings in city center. They are recruiting for an educated Accountant to join their team. Previous exposure and experience with either Inner City property management or residential property management is a non-negotiable.

POSITION INFO:

Experience/qualifications
·         B Comm Accounting minimum
·         3- 5 years in Property. Either as a Property Accountant or Portfolio Manager
·         Excel proficient, good understanding of PAYE, SDL and submitting Tax Returns to SARS
·         Strong Reporting Skills
·         Knowledge of the MDA and Pastel Payroll systems is advantageous
 
Responsibilities
·         Reporting to the Director and the General Manager
·         Receipting
·         Bank reconciliations
·         Supplier vetting and loading on to MDA
·         Review accounts receivable for respective properties and the management company
·         Loading and reviewing payments
·         Annual property and business budgets are complete within a set deadline
·         Accruals
·         Tenant escalations
·         Sourcing utility accounts from the utility manager, paying accounts and providing recons should they be required
·         Monthly reporting to the Director and General Manager
·         Ensuring all monthly management accounts are kept current and all items are posted to the correct codes before rolling into the new month- Income Statement/ Cash Flow/ Trial Balance and any other reports that may be required
·         Overview and signing off tenant billing on a monthly basis
·         Ensuring all buildings and businesses are correctly loaded and VAT implications for each are correctly posted
·         Remittance and reconciliation of all legislated taxes
·         VAT returns
·         Payment of PAYE and SDL
·         Regular audits of Deposit accounts per property
·         Deal with relevant staff training and appraisals when required
·         Liaise with Director and General Manager on staff performance and any issues that may arise as and when they happen
·         Ensuring tenant vetting is carefully managed
·         Regular lease audits
·         Preparation of documents for annual audits and tax filing processes
·         Crosscheck input information for property and tenant lease to ensure it is up to date
·         Maintain proper records of amortization/depreciation of fixed assets and leasing commissions
