Financial Controller Treasury

SUMMARY:
Industry: Retail (Supermarkets) Candidate who applies should be immediately available to start as soon as possible. We are looking for a BCom Accountant to run our Treasury section in finance. This role is purely based in the bank and cash department. This is one of the most critical functions in the finance department. CTC: 30K-40K per month depending on experience

POSITION INFO:

Duties as follows:

• Oversight over the daily (cash up recons and bank statement recons), weekly and monthly deliverables being completed timeously. (60+stores)
• Following up and oversight over till differences and missing deposits.
• Effective communication of big differences
• Dealing with the banks & stores on queries and being the point of contact for the banks
• Daily preparation/review of cash flow statement
• Stockvel Consolidations
• Net1 Pension Fund Consolidations
• Payout controls
• Daily guidance to the stores with regards to cashing up queries
• Enforcing controls around bank and cash
• Identification of weakness/breakdown in controls
• Interbank transfers
• Upload of payments on the bank
• Ad-Hoc tasks and projects
• Correctly reflecting all related transactions in the accounting software.

Reporting:

This role has 5 direct reports

This role reports directly to the Financial Manager and indirectly to Head of Finance and CEO

Experience

• This role is suited with someone who prefers treasury over general accounting.
• Someone who has experience in the bank and cash department of a retail environment is preferred.
• Someone who has worked on cash flow statements before.
• Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
• Ability to work with a team and lead the team to achieve deliverables.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• This role requires someone who is Process/system driven.
