JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team.


• Determining budget requirements
• Allocation of budget to respective items - FM
• Entering budget on Pastel - FM
• Requesting relevant reports
• Interpretation of reports and reporting to management and Executives
• Make recommendations according to trends, and statistics
• Report on data as required by financial prescripts
• Effective and efficient management of the procurement sections
• Ensure the management of the procurement function
• (ordering, delivery, payments and goods and services)
• Ensure the management of asset management for the business.
• Ensure the management of the disposal function for the business.
• Effective and efficient management of the Income, Expenditure and Accounting sections
• Ensure the day to day operational management of the sections
• Requesting of expenditure and other relevant reports and make recommendations to management of tendencies, discrepancies and corrective measures where required.
• Allocation of the budget to item level and monitoring of expenditure against these items
• Report according to financial prescripts
• Reconciliation of general ledger, control and suspense accounts
• Review Calculates and prepares VAT submissions
• Review Bank recons
• Manage cash flow
• Prepare monthly financial and flash reports forecasts, reporting, payments, cash flow
• Analyse monthly management accounts
• Financial expenditures request and approve
• Manage expense budget
• Review processes and internal controls – set
• standards in accounting and reporting systems
• Formulate financial policies for approval
• Report budget variances and investigate problem areas
• Audit systems and integrity of data and correct use
• Sets reporting deadlines
• Undertake ad-hoc projects
• Provide financial approval for third party
• Analyse and report on operations expenses
• Compile monthly financial reporting and statistics on operations

Qualifications
 
• An Accounting related qualification degree/diploma
• 6-10 years’ experience within the FMCG industry (Cold Store environment advantageous)
• Valid driver’s license
• SAICA articles
• 5 years managerial experience within FMCG Industry
