Financial Controller

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

• Assist with input into financial strategy
• Provide financial analysis and support to management and all operational areas of the business
• Maintain and update accounting systems
• Comply with internal controls
• Prepare operational budgets and load budgets on system
• Prepare operational forecasts and load forecasts on the system
• Prepare financial reports and returns (Monthly BU Management pack)
• Investigate and action Financial variances
• Produce BU flash results and analyse variances
• Compile balance sheet account recons
• Investigate and action balance sheet account variances
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Liaise with central functions and facilitate reconciliations to substitute subsystem
• Prepare and plan year end statutory audit in line with audit plan
• Prepare ledger balances and an initial trial balance including all recons, balance sheet accounts and supporting documentation
• Follow up and action audit findings
• Monitor daily cash positions and cash flows to ensure settlements and maximise performance
• Manage cash flow and working capital
• Revalue foreign creditors and bank accounts
• Prepare forex forecasts
• Purchase forward exchange contracts
• Complete CAPEX/ disposal/ transfer applications
• Monitor and report CAPEX monthly spend vs budget
• Prepare and submit insurance declarations
• Review and authorise creditors payments
• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register
• Prepare business tax returns (VAT,PAYE,SDL

Minimum requirements

• Grade 12
• National diploma or BCOM in Finance / Accounting
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Manufacturing experience
