A well-established insurance giant seeks an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team based in Johannesburg West. In this role the purpose will be to report on financials results of underwriters and to perform reconciliations of underwriter balances.

A well-established insurance giant seeks an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team based in Johannesburg West.

In this role the purpose will be to report on financials results of underwriters and to perform reconciliations of underwriter balances.

Duties include, but not limited to

Preparation of income statement and balance sheets for underwriters

Preparation of cashbooks

Preparation of journals, reporting packs and schedules for underwriters

Statutory reporting

Reconciling claims clearing accounts

Performing balance sheet reconciliations

Analysis and reconciliations of monthly accounts

Preparation of management reports

Assistance with audits and other adhoc duties as require

Education:

BCom in finance or accounting

Skills & Experience:

1 to 2 years experience in similar position

Insurance industry experience is non-negotiable

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is a non-negotiable

Strong personality

Strong analytical skills

Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment

Team player

The role requires an individual that is adaptable to changes in a growing organisation, detail orientated and with the ability to work in a manual environment.
