SUMMARY:
A leading multinational manufacturing and supplier of military grade weapons (offensive and defensive) is in search of a Financial Accountant to join their high-performing team. The incumbent must be very comfortable with budget and cash flow and must have an understanding of financial and operational risks.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job and Company Description:
My client specializes in the Manufacturing and Supply of weapons, equipment, vehicles and drones for air, land and sea defensive or offensive purposes. They provide key defense solutions to over 60 countries worldwide with a weapons portfolio that is regularly revised to serve the ever-changing global geo-political landscape. The ideal candidate must hold a BCom degree, preferably with Articles.

As the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

Transaction capturing (banks/invoices) & posting journals for assigned entity
Rolling cash flow forecasts (12 week & annually)
Budgets – Annually and monthly review
Manage working capital requirements of group (local and international)
Working closely with operations (production, procurement, and business development departments) to fulfill duties and meet project objectives
Create and improve working papers and templates as and when required
Ensure tax and exchange control compliance
Company administration (annual returns etc.)
Compile and submit reconciliations, schedules, and information for all tax return submissions to SARS (VAT, income tax, payroll)
Identify and manage financial and operational risks
Review contracts and agreements
Engage with business partners (suppliers/clients) and consultants (ERP, Tax, Legal) as required
IFRS/IFRS for SME’s reporting
Compilation and review of annual financial statements, supporting documents, reconciliations, and schedules ensuring audit assertions are met
Travel abroad (If and when required, limited and ad hoc)
Management accounts and monthly reports

Job Experience and Skills Required:

BCom with Articles
Excel advanced
Manufacturing / Retail / FMCG experience advantageous
SAP / Sage X3 advantageous
