A well-established insurance underwriting giant seeks the services of a Financial Accountant to join their team based in Johannesburg West.

In this role the purpose will be to provide support by applying accounting principles in monitoring and analyzing financial data, maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, and providing accurate accounting information to support business decisions

Duties include, but not limited to
Analyze, summarize and account for financial transactions
Ensure costs remain within budget / planned expenditure
Provide recommendations based on customer and client needs, current information and trends
Adhere to financial reporting guidelines
Maintain accurate records for all financial transactions
Manage payments and invoicing
Provide accounting information to support business performance
Support financial decision-making information by collecting, analysing and reporting financial data

Education:
Relevant diploma or degree in finance or accounting

Skills & Experience:
1 to 2 years' experience in a full function accounting role
Insurance industry experience is non-negotiable
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is a non-negotiable
Strong management experience
Strong personality
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment
Team player
The role requires an individual that is adaptable to changes in a growing organisation, detail orientated and with the ability to work in a manual environment.
