SUMMARY:
An Interior Design Company based in Illovo, needs an experienced Accountant to create financial statements, engage in accounting decisions for mergers and acquisitions and assist with forecasting (benefits and projections). The successful candidate will be familiar with Sage and Syspro systems, with 4 years’ experience in investigations and interpreting financial data for reporting purposes.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or relevant field.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, or Accredited in Business Valuation credentials preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and financial reporting software.
  • 4+ years' experience with financial accounting systems, extraction of financial data, and data analysis. Proficiency in software systems. (SAGE and Syspro Preferred)
  • 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to work under extensive time constraints.
Duties:
  • Compiles and analyzes account data to create capital, liability, and asset account entries Enters account details to document financial transactions
  • Analyzes accounting alternatives to suggest financial actions
  • Collects data to summarize current financial status
  • Prepares profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other documents
  • Audits records to substantiate financial transactions
  • Prepares and recommends procedures and policies by maintaining accounting controls Coordinates activities and answers questions to guide accounting clerical staff
  • Collects and examines account information necessary to reconcile financial discrepancies Completes database backups to secure financial information
  • Follows internal controls to ensure financial security
  • Verifies documentation, requests expenditures, and prepares disbursements
  • Researches and interprets accounting regulations and policies to resolve procedural questions
  • Studies current and new legislations to ensure compliance with federal, state and local financial regulations
  • Advice management on necessary operations to enforce adherence to legal requirements
  • Submit daily reports to give regulated communication on tasks
  • Gathers, interprets, and compiles account trends and data to create specialized financial report
  • Ensures client confidentiality by keeping financial information secure
  • Achieves individuals and team goals by contributing to effort as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ATTRIBUTES:
Knowledge:
  • The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
  • Knowledge of policies and practices associated with payroll and benefits administration
  • Computerized accounting programs: SYSPRO
  • Knowledge and ability in the use of a personal computer and software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures
  • Administration of employee benefits
  • Payroll systems: SAGE
