The concern has been around for almost 15 years. The main purpose of the role is to capture the daily operational transactions on Quickbooks, issue supplier and customer documents and perform month end and annual reconciliations.

The concern has been around for almost 15 years. The main purpose of the role is to capture the daily operational transactions on Quickbooks, issue supplier and customer documents and perform month end and annual reconciliations.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for daily processing and accounting, monthly reconciliations and reports for the monthly audit file and statutory reports. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for statutory reports, preparing the annual audit file and payment management.  The successful candidate will be responsible for generating the monthly trial balance, general ledger and abbreviated Income Statement and Balance Sheet for review as well as any ad-hoc requested from management.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• BCom Honors in Accounting
• SAICA/SAIPA articles completed (non-negotiable)

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• At least 1-2 years’ post article experience in a similar role
• Experience in the insurance/financial services industry would be advantageous
• Experience with Quickbooks is preferred
• Advanced Excel skills would be preferred
• Attention to detail
• Deadline driven
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills
