SUMMARY:
An established agricultural company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their high performing team. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the full accounting function on the farm (including all general ledger accounts and inventory).

Minimum Requirements:

Formal qualification required (BCom Accounting AND completed articles)
3 Years’ experience in the agriculture, farming, and livestock industry
Sage Evolution experience

Key Performance Areas (Responsibilities):

The Financial Accountant’s duties shall include, but not be limited to:

Journal and general ledger transactions and reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations
Weekly and monthly preparation and financial analysis of management accounting figures
Monitoring, analysis of inventory costs, reconciliation and ad hoc attendance of inventory counts of all inventory departments
Monitoring, reviewing of complete vehicle managements system
Maintenance of fixed asset register
Maintenance of SARS regulatory requirements, including reviewing of vehicle logbooks, implementing, and maintaining compliance with legal requirements and ensuring correct diesel rebates calculations as per Customs & Excise Act
Preparation of annual budget
Preparation of audit documents
Preparation of forecasts
Assist with preparation of management accounts, in-depth of analysing results against budgets and forecasts
Assist the CFO/Financial Manager with other requests, projects and responsibilities that may arise
