Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
A financial Accountant vacancy has been availed in one of South Africa’s leaders within the meat provider and exporter industry. We seek a Financial Accountant that stands out from the herd that is energetic and highly motivated, the individual needs to posses a can-do mentality. The Financial Accountant is required to prepare financial reports in order to assess the financial performances.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bcom Accounting
• 1-3 years working experience
• Post article experience is highly advantageous
• Good knowledge of accounting principles
• Computer literate, MS Office proficient, especially Excel
• Sage Evolution experience would be advantageous

Performance Areas (Responsibilities):

The Financial Accountant’s duties shall include, but not be limited to:

• Overseeing full accounting function on the farm (including all general ledger accounts and inventory).
• Journal and general ledger transactions and reconciliations.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Weekly and monthly preparation and financial analysis of management accounting figures.
• Monitoring, analysis of inventory costs, reconciliation and ad hoc attendance of inventory counts of all inventory departments.
• Monitoring, reviewing of complete vehicle managements system.
• Maintenance of fixed asset register.
• Maintenance of SARS regulatory requirements, including reviewing of vehicle logbooks, implementing, and maintaining compliance with legal requirements and ensuring correct diesel rebates calculations as per Customs & Excise Act.
