Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
Permanent Accountant position based in Westlake Cape Town has become available. One of the most energetic environments, working with an exciting brand. This newish brand within the FMCG/Retail space will give you a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of Finance.

POSITION INFO:
Education:

• Matric Certificate
• Completed Degree or Diploma would be advantageous

• Strong knowledge of MS Excel (Advanced)
• 2  years previous experience in a similar role
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Bookkeeping:
• Supplier loading (including payment terms)
• Supplier invoice processing
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Supplier payment run loading (as per terms)
• Bank reconciliations
• Trade finance interest cost recalculation and processing
• Trade finance reporting
• Review stock reconciliations with warehousing and distribution partners
• Reconcile, balance and capture retail customer sales & COGS on DEAR (using SGX AS1 data)
• Monthly sales & COGS recon to balance DEAR and Xero
• Draft monthly management accounts
• Draft monthly GMA analysis
• Monthly journal processing
• Production assemblies on DEAR
• Monthly stock adjustments (post stock count)
• Fixed Asset Management maintenance
• Policing cooler location verification process monthly with sales
• Outstanding PO reporting (month and ad hoc functional budget support)
• Banking:
• Beneficiary maintenance
• Payment loading
• Extracting statements
• Import payment justification to bank (advance foreign payments)
• Bank reconciliation (Xero)
• Petty cash recon
• Fuel card management
• Taxation:
• Support calculation and submission of VAT returns
• VAT refunds follow up (incl provision of all supporting documents for audits)
• Credit insurance:
• Weekly debtors meeting pack preparation – link to trade finance reporting
• Monitor customer credit limits
• Ensure monthly aging is sent to credit insurance and respond to any queries
• Supplier management:
• Development of supplier take on form
• Supplier credit applications
• Supplier statement dispute resolution
• Bank beneficiary loading
• Daily/weekly/monthly payments
• Debt collection:
• Monthly debtors statement distribution
• Outstanding debt collection
• Dispute resolution
