Financial Accountant

POSITION INFO:

Compile detailed budget per account after consultation with Management and detailed analysis of historical data

Assist and support Managers during the budget compilation process

Monitor and track performance and liaise

Conduct variance analysis and advise

Undertake trend analysis, monthly highlighting areas of concern

Liaise with Group Shared Services (GSS) regarding revenue collection, outstanding payments and fixed assets

Analyse financial performance

Collate and analyses financial performance information in respect of the Brand/brands

Prepare reports accurately and timeously monthly, quarterly and annually

Prepare cash flow, weekly

Prepare monthly management accounts, meeting requisite deadlines

Prepare monthly MANCO report meeting requisite deadlines

Provide Managers and relevant staff with required trained regarding financial policies and procedures

Sign off monthly audit files and ensure all month/year end journals are processed

Approve expenditure in line with authorization matrix

Ensure timeous submission of statutory returns for Brand/Brands

Identify and report on non-compliance across the Brand

Ensure the workflow is managed on a day two-day basis and ensure deadlines are met

Ensure identification of critical skills essential for sustainability of service delivery to the brand

Ensure staff are adequately trained

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Financial & Management Accounting

Applied knowledge of IFRS

Advanced Excel Skills

Proficient with Sage Evolution or similar accounting package

Sound knowledge of Audit principles

Applied knowledge of South African Tax Legislation

Qualification:

BCom/ B.Accounting degree
