SUMMARY:
Financial Accountant

POSITION INFO:

  1.  Investment Company seeks a skilled and ambitious Financial Accountant to join a dynamic financial team based in Sandton. The successful individual will be primarily responsible for the full accounting function up to balance sheet, including preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements.   
 
  1. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ï‚· Assist with the full accounting function up to balance sheet, including preparation of financial statements ï‚· Prepare monthly management accounts and other reporting ï‚· Prepare monthly journals ï‚· Improve processing efficiencies and drive system improvements and automation ï‚· Assist with cash flow forecasting ï‚· Assist with preparation of tax returns ï‚· Maintain the fixed asset register ï‚· Prepare and assist with the company’s annual audit ï‚· Responsible for enforcing company stock processes and stock control best practice, and oversee the information provided by the Inventory Controller ï‚· Participate in weekly cycle counts and monthly stock takes ï‚· Responsible for the full debtors function ï‚· Improve collection totals and receivables ï‚· Create and distribute invoices to clients ï‚· Complete debtor’s reconciliations and following up on weekly/monthly payments 
  2. REQUIREMENTS: ï‚· B.Com qualification, or relevant financial tertiary qualification ï‚· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role ï‚· Inventory and debtors experience is required ï‚· Experience in the financial services industry is advantageous ï‚· Experience in Pastel Evolution is essential ï‚· Fully computer literate ï‚· Advanced Excel skills required COMPETENCIES: ï‚· Have a passion for excellence in all aspects of your career ï‚· Possess people skills and a personal style that will establish credibility with internal and external customers alike ï‚· Possess strong verbal and written communications skills ï‚· Able to think-out-the-box, generate new ideas and implement them effectively ï‚· Be responsible, self-disciplined, reliable, systematic and have a high degree of personal integrity ï‚· Follow procedures and have a structured approach to problem-solving ï‚· Be organised, motivated and able to manage own time effectively
