Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
We are seeking experienced Financial Accountants to join their finance team. The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the financial management and reporting functions of the business, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and effective financial controls.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Matric/or NQF level 4
• BCom (Hons) / Equivalent degree or diploma
• SAIPA or AGA registered

 Experience:

• At least 3-5 years post articles experience
• Excellent Excel, Word and Outlook experience
• Sage Intacct
• Sage business cloud professional
• Pastel Partner Accounting
• Quickbooks online

The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial accounting functions of 7 companies, in the following sectors: debt collection (1); financial services (3); financial wellness and training (1) and financial investment (2). The role will involve the following:

• Oversee full accounting function up to Annual Financial Statements.
• Oversee full payroll function for all companies.
• Run annual external audits for all companies.
• Perform monthly management reporting.
• Cashflow management and planning.
• Procuring finance and liaising with Banks.
• Analyse internal controls and identify weak controls, improve and implement internal controls.
• Verify compliance with laws and regulations: Companies Act, Income Tax Act and VAT Act.
• Submission of all statutory returns.

• Create and implement policies, procedures and workflows to create operational efficiencies and minimise manual processes.

• Provide assistance on special projects within the finance function.
• Assist in obtaining information for ad hoc requests received from both internal and external stakeholders.
