POSITION INFO:

Assist with annual budgeting process for group, to set targets and monitoring throughout the year
Review budgeted fees and expenses for variances and resolve where necessary
Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
Ensure Head of Departments for all Business Units receive and sign the departmental financial results
Review financial info processed by the finance team to ensure accuracy
Assist in implementing systems for monthly reporting
Ensure accounting frameworks are consistently applies
Compile monthly balance sheet recon file and ensure integrity of line items
Analyse and identify cost versus budget and understand cost drivers
Identify cost saving opportunities
Compile and submit monthly VAT and EMP201 submissions
Sound knowledge of VAT processing
Reconciliation of VAT monthly
Compile and submit monthly Excise submission
Review SARS profile monthly
Assist creditors clerks with capturing more complex invoices
Ensure invoice approval before payment release
Review monthly supplier recons
Check, verify and release bank payments and all foreign payments
Petty cash count and recon monthly
Ensure group procurement department operate effectively in securing best products and pricing
Detailed analysis and review on Cost of sales
Spot checks on stock
Review and approve final pay register
Import payroll journals monthly
Ensure integrity on fixed asset register
Accounts receivable reconciliations and review
Compiling monthly balance sheet recon
Assist with all audit queries
Provide feedback to creditors team and assist with their performance appraisals
Maintain strong relationships and communication with all team members
Develop external relationships with vendors
Ad hoc requests where required

Skills & Experience:
Completed SAIPA articles and registered PA(SA)
Minimum 1 or more years’ experience after articles
Hospitality or tourism industry exposure highly beneficial

Qualification:
Registered Professional Accountant
BCom or equivalent qualification
