SUMMARY:
A household name in affordable insurance products seeks an experienced Financial Accountant to join their dynamic and fast-growing finance team. This role will be based in Midrand West.

Hybrid working policy applies after successful completion of probationary period.

POSITION INFO:
Job & Company Description:
The successful incumbent will have a passion for financial accounting and all things numbers!

The purpose of the role will be to prepare and analyse accounting records, financial statements and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
Daily cash management
Daily recording of asset transactions (additions, disposals and transfers)
Accruals accounting and impact of entries on profit and loss, balance sheet and the cash flow
Compile monthly accounting records
Prepare month-end reconciliations
Debtors age analysis
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual statutory returns
Generate finance reports
Respond to audit queries
Generate monthly depreciation journal
Record daily financial transactions
Supervise a team performing routine work
Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences

Education:

BCom Degree in Finance or Accounting field
Honours degree beneficial

Skills & Experience:

Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
2 to 4 years post articles experience within a financial accounting role
Insurance industry experience NON-NEGOTIABLE
Sage X3 working knowledge essential
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Financial and business acumen
Strong personality
Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment
Flexible and open-minded
Team player
