SUMMARY:
Global shipping company seeks a physically active Finance Manager responsible for the management of the finance team and department in Mozambique and as part of the management team to provide detailed, timeous, and accurate financial reporting to management and shareholders.

POSITION INFO:

Required:

+ 5 years experience as a Finance Manager
Finance experience in shipping and clearing and forwarding industry
Degree in Accounting (CA qualification preferable).
Completed Articles
Experience with the Mozambican financial environment
Ability to speak and write in Portuguese advantageous
Effecting reading, writing, and oral English skills
Competence in the appropriate accounting package and MS Office

Duties:

Ensure timeous and accurate reporting to management
Keep good control over the Accounts Department for Maputo and all Branches overseeing accounting function, guiding staff, implementing systems and controls and reviewing work performance
Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to
Control over cash and bank accounts
Control over Creditors and Debtors
Control and manage all month-end accounting and reporting procedures
Prepare monthly reports to management
Monthly and annual statutory reports, submission, and payments – Tax, provisional taxes, IVA, etc.
Annual audit
Assist with preparation of annual budgets
Annual statutory submission relating to results and tax
Maintain accounting system
Ensure all company assets are maintained and protected
Develop staff and performance appraisals
Ensure disciplinary and grievance management in order to maintain a positive work environment and enhance productivity
Render services over and above the norm, as and when requested by the MD
