Finance Manager

SUMMARY:
We're looking for an operationally-minded financial accounting management profile.

POSITION INFO:

Our client in the packaging manufacturing industry, seeks a Finance Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for the full financial accounting function and supporting the management team with accurate financial information to ensure the financial well-being of the business. We''re looking for an operationally-minded financial accounting management profile, who is hands-on and who will work closely with the GM of this medium sized plant based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Responsibilities: 

• Full financial accounting, budget forecast, cash flow management, management accounts, review of trial balance, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, process month end journals, review monthly VAT for auditors
• Debtors: invoice reconciliation, manage debtor queries, age analysis & collections
• Creditors: review month-end reconciliations completed by Creditors Controller, loading of creditor payments onto banking, monitor supplier spend, assist with any new contracts as required
• Payroll: oversight of monthly payroll, statutory submissions, liaise with unions and assist with ad hoc HR / staff related queries, commission reconciliation of sales staff
• Ensure the implementation and adherence to financial policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Minimum of a completed Accounting / Financial degree
• Minimum 5+ years'' experience in a full function finance role
• Experience working in a finance role within the manufacturing / production industry
• Experience with liaising with international clients and assisting with relevant shipment processes / documentation e.g. Letter of Credit, FOB etc.
• Experience with payroll oversight and HR related responsibilities
• Computer literacy: MS Office proficient with strong MS Excel skills
• Systems knowledge: strong QuickBooks preferred or similar accounting software
• Ability to manage the full finance function as well as offering financial information / reports to senior management, to assist strategic business decision making
• Highly numerate, with the ability to work well at both an operational and strategic level
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels across the business incl. C-Suite level clients
