POSITION INFO:

Our client in Randburg is looking for a quick-thinking, hardworking individual to gain knowledge and experience in the Insurance Industry. This individual should be able to handle administrative tasks whilst learning about Underwriting and various Insurance Products. This is a great opportunity for a Finance Graduate to learn the ways of Insurance while being supervised. Must stay close or near Sundowner, Randburg.

Requirements:

Degree/Diploma (in Finance preferably)
Knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
Good Phone Etiquette

Duties:

Administrative tasks such as answering the phone, capturing data.
Underwriting duties such as:
- Examining insurance proposals.
- Collecting background information and assessments of risk.
- Analysing statistical data using specialist computer programmes.
- Writing quotes and negotiating the terms with brokers and clients.
- Determining premiums.
- Deciding the wording of policies.
- Comparing quotes
- Handling claims.

Personal Attributes Needed:

Should be able to work under pressure
Should be able to be charismatic and calming to deal with pressurized and irritable clients.
Should be willing to learn.

The chosen candidate will be able to "build their own book" and earn commision once they have gained enough knowledge of the industry.
