POSITION INFO:

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Finance Executive: Group Reporting who will report to the Oceana Group CFO. The role will be responsible for managing and delivering all internal and external reporting requirements in accordance with Group policies as well as the appropriate standards and regulations. In addition, the successful candidate will be accountable for the development and deployment of standardised Group reporting structures and systems to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting.

This position requires a seasoned, high-energy, self-motivated, analytical and agile senior leader with strong commercial acumen and a high degree of technical accounting and tax knowledge.

The successful applicant must have a demonstrable track record of implementing system, process and reporting enhancements within a Group reporting environment and possess strong leadership and people management skills.

As a Senior Leader, your key responsibilities would be:

• Responsible for the management and delivery of the Group’s annual financial statements, interim and annual SENS announcements to the JSE and other trading updates to the JSE as required
• Preparation of financial information for Board Meetings, Audit Committee Meetings, Investor Meetings and other Executive Management Meetings
• Coordinating and managing the Group’s monthly reporting, annual budget and quarterly forecast processes and the reporting thereof to key stakeholders
• Managing the accounting and taxation function for Oceana Group Limited statutory company including budget and forecast control and reporting to management
• Manage and coordinate the Group’s internal and external audit processes ensuring adherence to timelines and management of deliverables
• Review, analyse and monitor segmental financial results and prepare executive commentary thereon and highlighting possible financial and business risks
• Prepare feasibility and ROI analyses for investments to ensure financial viability thereof with ongoing post investment review and reporting
• Management of the Group reporting department to ensure sound financial control, adherence to policies, secure and accurate financial reporting
• Develop, implement and modify Group financial policies, procedures, processes and practices in line with current legislation and ensure compliance thereto.
• Providing technical guidance to group companies for the recording and reporting of significant transactions across the group, including implementation of new accounting standards
• Management, development and deployment of standardised reporting systems and processes to ensure efficient, reliable and timeous financial reporting
• Continuously drive system and process efficiencies across the Group reporting function
• Lead and manage the Group reporting department

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Qualification – CA (SA)
• Minimum 18 years post articles experience, with at least 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership capacity; managing; developing; motivating teams; and embedding a high-performance culture
• JSE Listed reporting experience essential
• Significant financial reporting experience and a good knowledge of IFRS
• Proven experience managing system implementation projects
• Working knowledge of ERP and consolidation systems essential
