Finance Clerk

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Retail industry is seeking to employ a dynamic Finance Clerk to join their team in East London. To Drive, Manage, Deliver and plan all specifically assigned finance related tasks of the business. The Finance Clerk assists the Accountant to make sound business choices within their specific department / role.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description: 
Complete cash overs/unders and related queries.
Load sundry/monthly and Forex payments into banking system.
Print relevant proof of payments made from banking system.
Refunds to customers as and when required.
Ensure control sheet is updated (customer refund related).
Daily speed point banking.
Ensure speed point merchant numbers are updated.
Record and monitor collections.
Process cash deposits / debit orders and transfers into Pastel.
Process store deposits into Excel.
After month-end run, complete and check cash overs/unders, including RCS, speed point and Cards.
Process speed point overs/unders journal.
Cash overs/unders journal and clearing 601 account.
Cash overs/unders check 1001 account.
Cash floats and Petty cash.
Bank Charges – check and process per store.
Distribute Learners summary.
Assist with checking wages/salaries hours ad hoc.
Analysis of cellphone call costs.
Daily Deposits.
Missed collections spreadsheet to be sent for credit.
Processing of invoices and reconciliation of monthly account.
Monthly preparation of payment reconciliation by 25th of each month.
Reconciliation to be submitted by 01st of each new month.
Send stationary to stores and process stationary reallocation to stores journal.
Housekeeping
Maintain cleanliness in office.
General
Finance tasks allocated by the Accountant or Finance Manager.
Assist auditors (internal / external) with required information/documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bookkeeping / Finance related qualification
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Similar role
- Pastel
Valid Drivers License – Code 8 unendorsed
