SUMMARY:
A well-established, family-friendly safari lodge on the Nambiti Big 5 Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a dedicated FIELD GUIDE / TRAILS GUIDE or COUPLE
POSITION INFO:
This is a wonderful opportunity to join an experienced guiding team on a Big Five reserve that has held the number one TripAdvisor ranking for nine consecutive years; the lodge places as much value on the right personality and fit as it does on formal experience. Guiding couples will also be considered.
Core Criteria:
- NQF4 Trails Guide qualification preferred; NQF2 guides actively working towards their NQF4 will also be considered
- Experience is an advantage, not a requirement; a strong cultural and team fit matters most
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, KwaZulu-Natal or Gauteng
- Sound knowledge of Big Five game viewing and guest safety protocols
- Warm, engaging guest interaction and strong storytelling ability
- A collaborative team player who will thrive within an established guiding team

Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct game drives for guests, with walking safaris to follow later this year
- Ensure guest safety at all times within a Big Five environment
- Share knowledge of local flora, fauna and conservation with guests
- Build genuine rapport with a largely international and loyal, repeat guest base
- Maintain guiding vehicles and equipment to a high standard
- Work closely with a capable, experienced team of guides
On Offer:
- Salary: R8,500 to R20,000 per month, depending on qualification and experience
- Live-in position; own en-suite room and all meals included
- 8.5 days off per month, plus 24 days annual leave
- Partial medical aid contribution available, where applicable
