POSITION INFO:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Field/Back-up Guide to join an exclusive private reserve, delivering exceptional wildlife experiences while providing personalised service to discerning guests. The successful candidate will combine strong guiding expertise, conservation knowledge, and luxury hospitality skills to create unforgettable guest experiences.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Lead private game drives, bush walks, and tailored wildlife experiences.
- Deliver engaging interpretation through expert knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and conservation.
- Create memorable guest experiences through storytelling, connection, and personalised service.
- Ensure guest safety and uphold the highest guiding standards.
- Maintain safari vehicles, equipment, and guiding areas to exceptional standards.
- Assist with lodge operations and guest activities when required.
- Work closely with the lodge team to ensure a seamless luxury guest journey.
Core Criteria:
- FGASA NQF2 minimum
- Back-up Trails Guide advantageous
- Valid PDP and driver’s licence required.
- Previous experience in a luxury lodge or private reserve environment.
- Strong knowledge of African wildlife, conservation, and guiding practices.
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills.
- Professional, adaptable, and passionate about delivering world-class experiences.
- A natural storyteller with a genuine love for the bush and conservation.
