Field Technician

SUMMARY:
Field Technician required to provide onsite support, maintain digital signage solutions and networks and complete agreed administrative tasks. To ensure the successful installation of solutions to Company and client requirements, satisfaction and expectations.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Matric
• Training in networking and relevant information technology qualification
• 3 years information Technology Industry.
• IT and installation knowledge and experience
• Drivers license and own vehicle

Key Performance Areas:

Troubleshooting

• Identify and resolve site solution performance issues and faults.
• Plan and design solutions for various faults.

Maintaining Assigned Venues

• Prioritise daily site visits according to Manage Engine tickets assigned by the Help Desk.
• Ensure that the correct tools and stock is taken to site to minimize time on site and maximise efficiency.
• Ensure that entire solution is in good, working condition, wiring is tidy, screen placement is correct, work areas are clean and the correct content is playing.
• Escalate and relay issues, irregularities, or unresolved issues to the Regional Manager.
• Update MMS/CMS comments and submit updated photographs.
• Complete and submit digital sign off documentation within 24 hours of job completion.

Stock

• Order stock in accordance with operational needs.
• Complete relevant virtual stock movements into or out of stores virtual venue (Stock tracking).
• Handle stock correctly and with care at all times, as well as report breakages or damage to the Regional Manager immediately.

Travel and Vehicle

• Efficient travel and route planning to ensure mileage is kept to a minimum.
• Log all mileage, time, work descriptions and solutions on Manage Engine immediately as the job is closed.
• Avoid all unnecessary visits to site, including site visits for reboots. Report any user error issues to site manager and Regional Manager.
• Ensure that driver’s license and vehicle license are valid at all times.
• Ensure that vehicle is kept neat and tidy at all times in order to maintain image.
• Comply with South African road and traffic regulations.
• Avoid reckless and negligent driving and ensure safe transportation of stock.

Equipment Usage and Care

• Ensure tools are kept in working condition, including company issued cellular phone.
• Attend to clients promptly, effectively, efficiently and courteously.
• Maintain excellent relationships with clients.
• Always be well groomed, well-spoken and friendly.
