Location: Gaborone, Botswana – Field based


Position Overview:

 

A reputable global molecular diagnostics company requires the services of a skilled Field Service and Applications Specialist.

 

The Field Service and Applications Specialist will be responsible for providing in-field assistance for pre- and post- sale technical activities with primary emphasis on growing the user base of diagnostic products.

One will be required to provide technical direction and support to customers on instrument operation, assay implementation and accreditation, maintenance of company products.

 

The selected individual will make technical presentations and conduct product demonstrations for customers. One will work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Scientific Affair, Technical Support, Service, and global business units to identify and assess customer needs and provide high quality customer care exceeding expectations.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Diploma in Engineering / Biology / a Bachelor’s Degree with experience in Molecular Biology preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electric or Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years Medical Technologist /Diagnostic Market FSE experience .
  • Experience working with various KOL’s within Botswana.
  • Local language knowledge such as Setswana preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with lab automation systems and LIS/connectivity.
  • Clinical Laboratory focus along with experience in Molecular and Microbiology techniques.
  • Technical support and training experience in reagent and instrumentation for Clinical Diagnostics.
  • Experience working in Africa is preferred.
  • Expertise with generating commercial leads.
  • Experience with customer base within territory a plus.
  • Excellent technical presentation skills for group and one-on-one presentations.
  • Networks with the scientific community to grow the business.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, and Outlook.
  • Reliable own motor vehicle and valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends for special program events.
  • Willingness to spend around 80% on-site with customers.
