SUMMARY:
Our well established Client based in the Meadowdale area is urgently looking for a Field Service Technician with Experience in Conveyor systems to join their team

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Education Requirements:

National Senior Certificate or equivalent technical qualification.

Experience Requirements:

Experience working on conveyors, using welding equipment and power tools preferred.
Preference will be given to those candidates who have experience in heavy-duty industries (Mining, Ports & Terminals etc.) and/or light-duty industries (Aggregates, Agriculture & Food etc.).

Physical Requirements:

Lift equipment that is 25-35kg, 1.5m long; walk with it for 3-4 minutes, 5-6 times during an 8-hour shift. There is the constant lifting of awkward parts, bending over, squatting and walking.
Climbing and crawling on conveying equipment inside and outside of mines.
Must be able to drive for a long duration (typically 1 – 3 consecutive hours) to get to customer site locations.
Pass medical and fitness tests as required by some of our clients.

Competency Requirements:

Strong math and mechanical skills.
Must have reasonable skills in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and be able to learn, understand and use simulation tools provided by the company.
Strong communication skills, must be able to present in the field training.

Other Requirements:

Must have their own car and a valid drivers license.
Successful candidates will undergo a rigid training program in the 1^st month of their tenor on which progress tests will be written and a pass rate of +90% is required.

Responsibilities:

Assist in layout of installations working from information gathered from Service Lead, distributor and customer.
Perform field product service at customer sites, troubleshoot, repair and replace defective parts and components as required, and check for proper operation.
Set up and perform material, product and component tests as directed.

Assist in training customer personnel on product installation, maintenance and service procedures
