Field Service Technician

SUMMARY:
Perform maintenance and repairs on earthmoving equipment as per client and company request.

POSITION INFO:

• Certificate: Diesel Mechanic OR Certificate: Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic
• Mining equipment or mining industry: 5 years
• Code B; Motor vehicle licence
• Haul Truck; Excavator; Front End Loader
• Microsoft Office; Global E
• Fitness for Duty Certificate
• No criminal record

Maintenance and Repair

• Fault finding: Conduct advanced hydraulic fault finding.
• Support Service: Provide technical support and advice to clients; Provide assistance to Mechanics; Assist with compilation of parts list.
• Mechanical duties: Inspect and repair machines and components according to Hitachi standards and procedures and within agreed timeframe; conduct necessary fault finding to identify the problem and take necessary corrective action.
• Engineering processes: Process completed according to acceptable engineering processes; Inspect final product to ensure correlation with standards and procedures.
• Customer relations: Develop and maintain sound relations with customers; Resolve customer queries timely and accurately.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct evaluation on processes to ensure quality assurance and implement remedial actions if and where necessary to address non-conformance.
• Health and Safety: Adhere to all applicable safety, health and environmental practices and procedures to ensure compliance at all times; Address all unsafe practices/ potential hazardous situations, rectify and report to relevant stakeholder; Promote safety culture and awareness amongst fellow employees on ongoing basis; Ensure vehicle meet required safety standards; Equipment is maintained at all times and defects reported to relevant manager.
• Good Housekeeping: Ensure workshop is clean at all times; Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned after use and stored; Maintain field service vehicles at all times according to standards and procedures.
• People management: Conduct on the job training and development of sub-ordinates.
