The following vacancies exists: Field Service Technician X6: Sasol Secunda
The positions will be based at Sasol Secunda and the incumbents will report to the Field Service Supervisor
Job Specification (not totally inclusive)
- Maintain / repair Joy equipment
- Conduct daily pre-maintenance and inspections
- Customer support in terms of safety, breakdowns, coaching and to achieve lowest cost per ton
- Drive productivity improvement and quality work performance
- Uphold safety standards and good housekeeping
- Conduct frequent needs analysis within Mine sections to identify gaps and opportunities for optimisation
- Travel between Mines for maintenance / repairs
- Provide technical support to other Field Service Technicians and Customer
- Write clear reports
Minimum Skills and experience required
Ÿ Matric / N3. N4 to N6 will be preferable.
Ÿ Fully qualified Electrician / Millwright with Flameproof and Gas Testing certificates
Ÿ Drivers’ license and own reliable transport
Ÿ Must have done Joy relevant courses
Ÿ Must be computer and database literate (MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
Ÿ JNA II and VFD experience is crucial
Ÿ Faceboss 2 experience will be an advantage
Ÿ AC shuttle cars experience will be an advantage
Ÿ Fletcher experience will be an advantage
Ÿ Minimum of 05 years’ experience on underground equipment
Ÿ High level knowledge and experience of Joy and Stamler equipment and Fletcher
Ÿ Experience in workshop assembly and manufacturing techniques will be beneficial
Ÿ Strong interpersonal skills are essential with an ability to communicate with customers and to accept and adopt a competent, responsible attitude
Behavioural Competencies required
- Ability to communicate with top level people (Engineers, Shaft Management, etc.)
- Self-motivated individual
- Willing and able to work alone and in teams
- Must have own reliable transport and valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to work FULCO shifts, standby’s and abnormal hours at times
- Must be available outside normal working hours as and when required
- Must be willing to travel long distances where applicable (Surface and Underground)
- Must be willing to relocate to Secunda, Trichardt or Evander
