Field Service Millwright

SUMMARY:
A Mining and Heavy equipment company has an opening for a Field Service Millwright in the Johannesburg East area, they will consider a  skilled and experienced Millwright with specialized expertise in mining winches and pulley equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of winches and pulley systems at various mining sites. This role requires frequent travel to client locations and the ability to work independently under challenging conditions.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Installation and Setup: Install and set up mining winches and pulley equipment according to manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
• Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular maintenance and repair work on winches and pulley systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical issues, identify faults, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction with the services provided.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and installations performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to junior millwrights and other team members as needed.

• Education: Relevant trade certification or diploma in Millwright, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with mining winches and pulley equipment.
• Skills:
• Strong mechanical and technical skills with a thorough understanding of mining equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and withstand the physical demands of the job.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently to various mining sites as required.

• Licenses: Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Certifications: Relevant safety certifications (e.g., MSHA, OSHA) are preferred.
• Clearance: Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by clients and regulatory bodies.
