SUMMARY:


An international agrochemical manufacturer is seeking a dynamic Field Scientist Intern to manage and lead the development of new and existing products that could result in the successful marketing and sales of profitable products, by ensuring timely and effective planning, execution, analysis and reporting of trials to achieve registrations for key products.



POSITION INFO:


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture with majors in Plant Pathology or Entomology or Agronomy
  • Experience with field trials will be ideal
  • Good knowledge of agricultural products, diseases, pests, nematodes, weeds and crops is important.
  • Must be willing to work in the field and manage various trials
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Striving to achieve a 100% success rate of allocated trials in terms of quality and on-time delivery.
  • Participating in and contribution to protocol management.
  • Ensuring timeous trial planning and execution.
  • Managing all agronomical aspects of the demonstration trials from E2E.
  • Arranging demonstration trial visits as agreed with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating demonstration days to train internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting trial results in systems as well as observations/results not specified in the protocol.
  • Identifying problems, opportunities and threats.
  • Providing technical assistance to sales and marketing.
  • Validating results and giving recommendations / insights on performance of tested products and solutions at single trial level.
  • Following up on external trials and on the ground interaction with 3rd parties.
  • Ensuring equipment and store maintenance.
  • Establishing good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, e.g. distributers, agents, growers, industry related organisations, etc.
  • Keeping abreast of market, trade and competitor activities in order to adapt to changing environments.
  • Driving standardization and transformation of ways of working.
  • Ensuring all operations under direct control comply with Health, Safety & Environmental policies and guidelines and statutory policies.
  • Reporting HSE observations and near misses together with Status reports.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience
