SUMMARY:
Our international client is looking for a Field Operator - LLDPE to join their operations in Qatar. The successful candidate will report to Shift Supervisor - LLDPE.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose
Carry out a range of plant related tasks using or maintaining equipment in a single process area and ensuring that it operates in a stable and safe manner in accordance with defined instructions and procedures to facilitate achievement of shift production targets in line with quality and HSE standards.

Key Accountabilities

Operations

  • Operate equipment in more than one process area, troubleshooting where necessary, supporting effective coordination of activities between the areas to achieve production targets.
  • Monitor the safe operation of process equipment in the assigned plants in line with defined standard operating procedures.
  • Collect and record various data related to the process/field equipment in the assigned units and promptly highlight any abnormal operating conditions to Shift Coordinator/ Shift Supervisor - LLDPE for prompt corrective action.
  • Monitor and validate the availability of different chemical preparations required in the process and follow up on loading/unloading of raw materials and products as per defined HSEQ procedures and instructions.
  • Prepare equipment for hand over to Maintenance and then return to service in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner in line with defined quality guidelines. Provides support to maintenance crew and associated third party service providers to facilitate effective maintenance activities in line with company standards.
  • Participate in commissioning and start-up activities as required in accordance with the approved operating procedures.
  • Attend to plant emergencies such as fire, gas leaks etc. under the direction of the Shift Supervisor - LLDPE.
  • Carry out effective coordination with panel operators across the processes assigned to support effective communication within the shift on all operational matters.
  • Check and verify that the equipment across the broader area of work that the role is coordinating is properly prepared for maintenance, signing documentation to confirm this has been done.
  • Provide initial interface with maintenance/operations to facilitate work to be done in the process area.
  • Participate in operating and safety trainings and share the same with operators to ensure standards of performance are achieved.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Shift Supervisor – LLDPE and Senior Operators during operations and in emergency situations.
  • Maintain logbook and process log sheets, recording operating parameters, quantity produced/ received and supplied to facilitate timely information availability.
  • Operate the folk lift as per defined instructions and production requirements in compliance with HSEQ standards.

  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Statements and Reports
  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate departmental statements and reports to meet and department requirements, policies, and standards.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment
  • Ensure all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
  • Conduct observations on unsafe/safe acts, and report in a timely manner.
Related Assignments
  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of High School Certificate.
  • 3 years of relevant experience within the assigned functions in production plant environment in Oil & Gas and/or Petrochemical industry.
